I couldn’t resist writing this post.

I love number patterns more than I’m willing to admit publicly. Clocks always seem to catch my eye at times like 11:11 or 4:56. I have Monk-like tendencies that prevent me from setting alarms to any “weird” number (minutes 00 or 30 are safe, 45 is OK, but 49 is taboo unless it’s 7:49). I’ll strain to hear the TV just so I don’t have to turn the volume to 17.

Some good friends of mine got married on 04/04/04 (but at 1pm … argh!). 05/05/05 was especially interesting because of its significance as a popular holiday. I was pretty much ready for the world to end during last year’s numerical event.

Today, despite 120°F+ temperatures and rogue shooters, I really really want to be in Las Vegas. (It helps that the World Series of Poker main event is going on right now).

(Oh, to give you a clue as to how weird I can be about this sort of thing … this post is 777 characters long and about 7K of HTML without comments.)

haha… that’s way too funny. I think we’ve talked about this before because I’m the same way (volume on T.V, alarm clock, etc) but apparently not nearly as bad as you :-)

Patterns in numbers also interest me being a elementary teacher. One that is hear each day when I am getting ready for work is at 5:55:55am where our local weatherman makes an annoying alarm clock sound!

4:44pm! See another one! I think Ade needs to update his daylight savings time setting as it was actually 5:44pm EDT.

LOL H3 … maybe I set the time zone that way deliberately because I saw you commenting. 5:44 is just so ugly.

I love to watch my odometer turn any milestone (thousands or higher) and I love to see the number be the same foward and backwards. You’re not that weird.

OK, I like numbers - but that’s amazing… getting the post to 777 characters and about 7K of HTML. True dedication :)

I also notice certain times on clocks - like 21:15, 22:55, 10:01, etc. - I’ll let you figure out what’s so special about them ;)
    I also notice 13:37 but that’s another thing…

Yes! Made it up to 7 comments on the post :)

Hannes, I’m assuming 21:15 and 22:55 are significant because you’re looking at an analog clock?

  • 8 Hannes // Nov 26, 2007 at 6:56 pm

OK, now I’m going to ruin the magic number of comments… ;)

Yes, I’m looking at analog time - it’s mirror numbers. Like 15:21, 12:51 and a few others :)
