I found another way to break my email

March 3rd, 2007 · 3 Comments

It wasn’t enough that I broke my email for a few hours last week with the Gmail migration. I woke up this morning to the curiosity of 0 new messages in my Inbox — no spam, no cron job notifications. Nothing.

It took me way too long to realize that the recursivefunction.com domain had expired and emails to it were going into the void.

Oh yeah, it has been one year already hasn’t it? And I had been too cheap to pay for more than one year in advance. And the email address on file with the registrar was some old Yahoo address that I don’t check anymore.

I hate Murphy’s Law :)

Time to use GMail’s recently-added POP feature to check those addresses of yore.

BTW, what good is a “non-authoritative answer”? Don’t we get enough of those from George Dubbya?

Supposedly Google docks you for registering less than two years… another good reason to buy 5 years at a time :)

You don’t know what that post meant to me—very transparent of you. That sort of faux pas generally has “Ed” written all over it.

And—at least you splurged on the chair. :)
